Building Trust: How Tapestry and Jestr Are Redefining Token Launches
Tapestry and Jestr are making token launches more human, more transparent, and anchored in real identity. Here’s how the partnership is reshaping onchain reputation.
Our recent Twitter Space with Jestr’s co-founder Nick Saponaro dove deep into the state of token launches, the need for identity and provenance, and what the future of socially-aware crypto tooling looks like.
Read the full recap of the conversation below and listen to it here.
Jestr’s Origins and Ethos
Nick's background spans over a decade in crypto. From early days with Bitcoin to building an EVM-based blockchain and leading it through major partnerships like La Liga, he's seen the ecosystem evolve—and fracture. Jestr emerged as a response to the misaligned incentives and opaque culture of token launches. It's not just a tool; it's a statement.
Naming the Bot: Why "Jestr"?
Jestr is playful, a bit mysterious, and born from the ethos of crypto's chaos. Nick shared that the name stemmed from the broader concept of "the circus" — a metaphor for the unpredictability and spectacle of the crypto space. Jestr is the clown of the circus, a character that brings humor but also insight, designed to poke fun at the absurdity of the current system while offering something real.
What’s Broken About Token Launches
Token launches today are often anonymous, ephemeral, and prone to abuse. Nick called out how easy it is to manipulate bonding curves, launch with zero accountability, and disappear. Jestr was designed to counteract that by tying launches to real identities and posts. If you launch with Jestr, you’re tying your handle to the token—publicly and irrevocably.
By anchoring launches to a user’s social handle, Jestr (and now Tapestry) begin to solve the trust gap. When a launch is connected to your identity, there's reputational skin in the game. You’re less likely to scam when your name, history, and social graph are all on display.
Reframing Tokens & Tapestry Integration
This shared belief in identity and provenance is what brought Jestr and Tapestry together. Tapestry's identities API links wallet addresses to real social identities, bringing context to every interaction. Now, when someone launches a token with Jestr, that action lives in their Tapestry profile and social graph—permanently.
One challenge in the token space is filtering through the noise. With Tapestry's reputation data and Jestr's social-anchored launches, it becomes possible to highlight credible creators and surface meaningful signals, not just hype. Imagine seeing which friends are aping into what, or how long someone held their token. That’s where it’s headed.
What’s Next for Jestr and Tapestry
Jestr isn’t stopping at token launches. They’re building memory, onchain agents, and frictionless onboarding. Tapestry will help power those future integrations with enriched identity data across Solana and Farcaster. Together, they’re pushing for a version of crypto that feels more human, more intentional, and more trustworthy.
As Nick put it: “If you want to scam, don’t launch with Jestr.”
This space was more than a product demo. It surfaced a shared belief: crypto tools should help people build in public, own their story, and make the social web a foundation for trust.
